The LEED® Green Building Rating System represents the US Green Building Council (USGBC) effort to provide a national standard for what constitutes a “green building”. It is utilized as a design guideline and certification tool for architects and designers seeking to develop high-performance, innovative, sustainable buildings.  The LEED® System applies specific criteria for New Constructions (LEED-NC) or Commercial Interiors (CI).   Using the LEEDTM rating system, a project can become LEEDTM certified by obtaining points for “green” building processes, systems, and materials.
